Nickel plating is used across a range of applications for parts and components used in the power, petrochemical, medical, electronics, and manufacturing industries. Electrolytic Plating
This process involves the use of nickel bath formulations, typically Watts or Sulfamate, which meet various industry standards. In addition, this type of nickel plating can result in dull or brightened deposits, also known as Type 1 and Type 2.
We have developed propriety processes that are used in specific industries to increase the performance of the plating through advanced adhesion and ductility to meet further fabrication and processing requirements.
The benefits of electrolytic nickel plating include the formation of an oxide surface that protects the underlying metal from corrosion. It also provides an aesthetically beneficial surface from a reflective shine to a matte or satin finish that is durable and long-lasting.
Electroless Nickel Plating
As the name implies, the process of electroless nickel plating eliminates the need for an electrical current to complete the plating process. This improves the quality of the deposit while also increasing the hardness and corrosion resistance of the surface. Components can also be heat treated after electroless nickel plating.
There are different options in electroless nickel plating to meet industry specific requirements. This includes specialized finishes for firearm parts and components. These processes provide exceptional adhesion for paint and powder coat finishes.
