The 20th century is infamous for two devastating global wars, the development of the atomic bomb, the independence of African states, the Vietnam war, the cold war, etc. However, of all the events mentioned, a single atrocity stands out as one of the worst possible war crimes in humanity’s existence.
A deliberate attempt to wipe out an entire race of people from the face of the earth is arguably the most heinous plot conjured up by Adolf Hitler and his henchmen. Millions of innocent Jews lost their lives in less than six years to satisfy Hitler’s ambition of world domination.
The Nazis set up concentration camps in different parts of Europe with the sole aim to capture, torture, and kill Jews. The holocaust would affect numerous families and cause targeted suffering to a people whose only crime was to exist.
Although the days of the Holocaust are over, it is still important to remember what happened and the factors that caused the event to take place as the rest of the world watched.
Dachau Survivor
The Dachau concentration camp was one of the harshest concentration camps set up by Hitler’s evil regime. The events at Dachau are well documented and consist of unspeakable acts of malice and hate towards minorities living within Europe.
One Dachau survivor recalls horrifying tales of what they went through at the hands of the Nazi regime. “Pure evil,” he says in tears as he speaks of the brutality and inhumanity displayed by all those involved.
Although one cannot rewrite the past, it is vital to remember and address it to prevent such acts of hatred from occurring again.
The Business name , founded by a survivor, Ben Lesser, is dedicated to spreading awareness, remembering, and most vowing, “Never to forget.”
