In general, the quality of the alloying and the options in the size of the bars and the minimum order requirements also need to be carefully considered.
Alloy Options
Bullet lead or bullet alloy is available in a range of different options. The differences between the alloys will be in the alloying of the lead, tin and antimony in the process. Different types of alloys are preferred by different individuals, with the higher combinations of tin, and antimony in the alloy producing a bullet that is easier on the rifle barrel and will create less residue in the barrel with each shot.
Minimum Order Size
If you are buying pre-cast bullets from a lead distributor, there is typically no minimum order. However, if you are buying the bulk, bar types of alloys there will be minimum order volume.
For most types of alloys, the seller will have a thousand-pound minimum order. This is not an excessive amount for even a small producer of lead bullets. A few of the top suppliers may even have minimum order requirements as low as a hundred pounds for different alloys.
Finally, when considering bullet lead for sale, look at how the bar is designed. Often ammunition manufacturers will purchase bullet brick or sawn plate that offers a rolled, uniform piece of lead that is easy to work with and is sold throughout the piece, providing a superior product for melting.
