Work with a DTF heat transfer to get a high level of detail that will ensure your design stands out. This type of transfer is made with ink that bonds to the garment without a vinyl layer. The final result is flexible, precise, soft, and able to routinely withstand 60 washes without cracking, peeling, or losing color. Your supplier will create these using a garment printer and PET film coated with an absorbent powder. The design may be delivered in vector or PNG format and should have a resolution of at least 300 dots per inch. The transfer will come on a sheet that does not have any preliminary cuts in it and will peel away.
Use a heat press to set the image on your garment or product and heat the item for 15 seconds. Let the entire surface cool, peel the film away, and go over the image again for another 15 seconds.
Your printer can get exceptional results using UV, solvent-based, water-based, or dye inks made for the DTF process. Ask about inks that give a metallic, glitter, or pearlized effect and any sections with fine lines or difficult color combinations. Many suppliers can help you improve the quality of your final image by suggesting design alterations prior to printing.
DTF heat transfers are ideal for both business and personal use on cotton, polyester, and other fiber types. Use this method for logos on sleeves, hats, and other areas that typically pose a printing challenge.
Certain ink types are available in limited color ranges and may offer better sustainability, brighter colors, or improved durability.
